Re: Recapture Value in True Manhood »
I agreed with everything this article had to say. I do remember an article in the Royal Vision titled “The Husband the Provider” by Joel Hilliker in 1998 that this reminded me of. Maybe that could be reprinted and posted on the Trumpet.

Herbert W. Armstrong was very blunt with this issue and was black and white with no gray areas. He did have a way of getting to the trunk of the tree.

The economy is only going to get much worse when the dollar falls and some mother’s may think they have to go outside the home to work and think it is required that they do so. We all need to lower our standard of living. Our loving Father promises to take care of us and to provide for us as long as we keep His commandments, laws, and statutes. Herbert W. Armstrong and his wife were a great example, they lived in about 28 years of poverty with several children. His wife thought of ways to make money from the home and not step outside of her role. We need to trust God our Father to supply our every need like he did for the Armstrongs.

Thanks for this article. It hit home in all the emotions and thoughts that I am feeling. It opened my thought process in trying to become a better man for my family and a better leader in the decisions that we make as a family.

Reading the article made me recall the time when I myself was thrust into male responsibilities because the men refused to take the cudgels, so to speak. While I learned a lot in the experience, I am now paying the price of having to unlearn taking the lead (most often unconsciously) and learn to perform my God-ordained role as a woman.

Women who feel that they are living a life of freedom take it for granted that the repercussions of being in bondage to this distorted sense of roles can very well destroy their children’s lives, as this article points out.

I certainly hope that the day is sped up so the world can be made to understand and accept our God-given roles.

This article just sent my thoughts back to lectures I had in school on Sociology. I could remember the lecturer discussing the topic of the Family, through the Functionalist, Marxist and the FEMINIST perspectives. I have to admit their arguments were convincing. The feminists think the office of the wife is opression and slavery, they reject the man as the head and petition for 50/50 power sharing. This is what happens when people try to reason from nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, as their premise. They observe the disfunctional families and the abuse of power throughout history as proof of what they are doing. One brave male voiced his opinion in support of men being leaders and the head, and was almost gutted from comments, coming from the females [almost 3:1 ratio of women to men in the class]. That shocked me! And the education today—human reasoning—is perpetuating this feminist mindset in female students. Obviously God is an ANTI-feminist!

I appreciate reading this article, more so, since while reading it my boyfriend called with great news of getting a new job. I used to subscribe but could not find the time to read all the articles. I now settle for just the Ambassador Bible course only. Maybe in the near future I will resume. God bless!

I agree that every man and woman should read this article more than once, and show it to their friends.

It is perfectly indicative of how the church fails to deal with science and contemporary social developments.

I advise the author to read Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales to see early examples of strong women emasculating men.

I also wonder why it is roles that men find necessary to occupy in order to create their vitality. Surely identity is something that is built from within; and with the edifying love of god nothing can detract from the individual’s self love.

you have written an excellent article. we have facing the same situation in our country. The female dominance is the major source of gay activity in man. Thank you for guiding our path.

[This is the type of article that this decadent world needs. In reality there are too many women in positions of authority where men should instead be; and weak effeminate men are becoming more abundant. We will have a lot of work to do in the Wonderful World Tomorrow, rescuing true manhood and proper leadership to rescue this world.

Thank you very much for this edifying article.]
