Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt Changes Guard but Still Looks to Iran for Support

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has been one of the most influential political movements in the modern history of the Middle East. The group was considered the biggest winner of the Arab Spring in 2011, after Egyptian strongman Hosni Mubarak stepped down at the behest of the United States administration. However, after just a short time in office, the Muslim Brotherhood was removed by a military coup. Now, with its old guard in prison or awaiting trial, the young guns of the Brotherhood may be teaming up with the Islamic State in the Sinai and Hamas to destabilize Egypt.
