“Eurocorps assumed command of nato’s International Security Assistance Force (isaf) in Afghanistan on August 9, the first deployment of Eurocorps outside of Europe. Eurocorps, headquartered in Strasbourg, France, is a multinational force with contingents from Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Spain. … Overall, approximately 7,000 soldiers from 33 countries—including about 2,000 from Germany—make up isaf.”
