Not long ago, the leaders of America and Britain understood that strong families were the bedrock of a stable society. Author Nicholas Wapshott wrote in 2007 that Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher agreed “that the family, the primary building block of society, was the most important institution … and that all other units must be measured against the power and worth of this ….”
