Jesus told His disciples just before He ascended to heaven that they should receive power when they were converted. “Ye shall receive power, after that the Holy [Spirit] is come upon you,” He said in Acts 1:8.
God promises that, upon repentance and baptism, we can receive the very same power Jesus Christ was filled with during His earthly ministry. The world today is ignorant of this precious truth.
