Whatever Happened to the Church Jesus Established?

What do you know about the beginning of God’s Church? In writing about the history of the Christian religion, historian Edward Gibbon said there was a “dark cloud” hanging over the first age of the Church. Scholars and church historians recognize that events in the early Christian Church between a.d. 50 and 150 can only be seen in vague outline—as if obscured by a thick mist.

After that dark cloud is removed in the middle of the second century, we see a church that calls itself Christian, but it’s completely different from the Church Jesus Christ established through the original apostles!
