Who Is Vladimir Putin?
Born in Leningrad, October 7, 1952, Putin was a child of the Soviet empire. After college, he joined the kgb, the security agency of the Soviet Union.
In 1998, Putin was made director of the fsb—the successor to the kgb.
In August 1999, Putin became prime minister.
Around the same time, Russia experienced a spate of deadly terrorist attacks. Putin’s response to the attacks made him hugely popular, which helped him become president in December 1999.
However, there is evidence proving that the fsb was responsible for the attacks—and that Putin himself may have even authorized the attacks.
Since 1999, Vladimir Putin has ruled Russia as a dictator. He has nationalized numerous companies. He has silenced, and even authorized the murder of, opponents. He has expanded Russia’s influence in Eastern Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Vladimir Putin is one of the world’s most powerful and dangerous leaders.
Bible prophecy says a strongman from Russia will lead a group of nations called the “kings of the east.”
“Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him …” (Ezekiel 38:2). The Hebrew word for “chief” translates to the proper noun “Rosh.”
The verse should read: “the Prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal.”
- Rosh – an ancient name for Russia
- Meshech – the ancient spelling of Moscow
- Tubal – the city of Tobolsk and the River Tobol are both derived from this spelling
Who is this prophesied prince of Russia, Moscow and Tobolsk?
The Trumpet believes Vladimir Putin is this man.
