Last week our team of excavators returned after working an 11-week archaeological excavation with Dr. Eilat Mazar in Jerusalem right next to the Temple Mount. Seven of them came into our studio and told me all about it.
What a thoroughly enjoyable experience it was to hear them! We recorded the conversation and made an episode of Trumpet Hour out of it.
If you have followed our archaeological activities in Jerusalem, you are going to love listening to today’s episode! We squeezed a whole lot into this talk! Here are some of the highlights of what we discussed:
- What it was like to become personally acquainted with Jerusalem’s fascinating past, and how it changed their view of history
- What it is like to work alongside one of the world’s greatest archaeologists
- A day in the life of an excavator (starting as early as 3 a.m.!)
- What it’s like living in Jerusalem, one of the world’s most unique and unusual cities
- How the volunteers plan to live life differently after their experience
- The inspiring miracles they witnessed among the stones and dust of the dig site.
