God’s Two End-Time Messages
Revelation chapters 2 and 3, as well as my book The True History of God’s True Church, detail all seven Church eras from the time of Jesus Christ to the present day. The sixth era of God’s Church received the key of David message (Revelation 3:7). Who on Earth today talks about that message?
The seventh era of the Church has received a slightly different message: the key of the house of David (Isaiah 22:22). This verse is part of a passage that talks about a man, a type of Eliakim, who is “a glorious throne to his father’s house.” His spiritual family, the Church, rises with him as royalty around the throne. We can only understand this powerful truth if God reveals it to us.
Back to the message of the sixth era: “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name” (Revelation 3:7-8). Christ gave a big open door so the key of David message could be “preached in all the world as a witness unto all the nations” (Matthew 24:14). The key of David is right at the heart of the gospel message that Christ taught. We cannot afford to misunderstand it!
Who delivered this key of David message around the world during the Philadelphia era? Herbert W. Armstrong. (Request his book The United States and Britain in Prophecy to understand that message. My book The New Throne of David will explain how God’s end-time message changed from the sixth to the seventh era.)
“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David” (Luke 1:30-32). God the Father will give the throne of David to His Son, Jesus Christ! Christ will rule from that throne forever!
Where is that throne today? Christ won’t return to a nonexistent throne! This truth has everything to do with God’s Church. This is a universe-shaking message—the key of David message morphing into the key of the house of David message.
Through the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation, the Philadelphia Church of God has assisted Dr. Eilat Mazar with excavating King David’s palace in Jerusalem. That’s really her most important find—and the most important archaeological discovery in hundreds of years! David’s palace embodies hope for the entire world!
God promised David that He would sustain David’s throne all the way to the Second Coming of Christ and beyond (Genesis 49:10; 2 Samuel 7:12-13; Isaiah 9:7). Physically, Christ was a descendant of David, which qualifies Him to sit on David’s throne in the near future.
“And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end” (Luke 1:33). This is a limitless vision! There is no end to this awesome promise from God! This is at the heart of everything we need to understand in the Bible.
Yet so few of God’s own people grasp this vision. “Thou that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city, a joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle” (Isaiah 22:2). God’s rebellious people are being massacred spiritually. They are alive physically but dead or dying spiritually.
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah: And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open” (verses 20-22). We have moved from the key of David to the key of the house of David. God’s message to the seventh era of His Church is more specific. Key of the house of David could also be rendered “key of the palace of David.” We have dug there!
Anciently, Eliakim took care of David’s palace under King Hezekiah of Judah. Today, an end-time type of Eliakim walks through God’s open doors and delivers the key of the house of David message.
Here’s an astounding statement: “And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father’s house” (verse 23). David’s throne—God’s throne—is being brought into the very Church of the living God. Never in the other six Church eras has this happened! We possess the throne today to prepare and preserve it for the Second Coming. The Prophet Isaiah says we are doing a marvelous work and a wonder (Isaiah 29:14).
God only gives such unmatched honor and glory to the few who come out of the world and declare the key of the house of David message through God’s open door. This message is for the whole world. It will solve every problem. In this evil and ugly age, we desperately need this hope. Christ’s return is so close.
The Moffatt translates Isaiah 22:22 as “I will lay on his shoulders duties of the Davidic palace.” God’s Church has real spiritual duties in David’s palace: to live by every word of God and to honor and respect Him and His throne. If we do, we will become the Bride of Christ and rule alongside Him at universe headquarters in Jerusalem for eternity (Revelation 3:12).
We possess a real stone. The stone of destiny has always been a symbol of Christ and the throne of David, but now there is a new stone and a new throne. I urge you to prayerfully study The New Throne of David along with The United States and Britain in Prophecy to prove every word of this.
“And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father’s house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons” (Isaiah 22:24). The offspring and the issue are two types of Laodiceans, those former Church members who have rejected God. The “offspring” consists of the 50 percent of Laodiceans who will repent in the Great Tribulation; they will die physically, but will be resurrected as lower-ranked sons of God. The “issue” refers to the other 50 percent who never repent. God considers them to be excrement because they permanently reject His marvelous message of glory and honor for every human who has ever lived.
This is all about the God Family, about understanding and delivering the vision to all people. If you are reading this, you are expected to back this message. Revelation 19:7 says that Christ’s Bride has made herself ready. Ready for what? Marrying Jesus Christ and sharing the throne of David with all mankind forever!
