Is Europe on the Verge of Another Holocaust?
A study commissioned by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany has reported a startling trend in Austria. According to this survey, 58 percent of Austrians believe that a genocidal event like the Holocaust could happen again in Europe. This coincides with alarming misperceptions that many Austrians have about the effects of the Holocaust.
Among those surveyed, 56 percent did not know that 6 million Jews were murdered during World War ii’s Holocaust. One out of 4 Austrians thought the number of Jewish victims was 1 million or fewer, with 12 percent estimating it to be as low as 100,000. Nearly 1 in 10 said that the figure of 6 million was an exaggeration.
These statistics stem from a startling lack of education.
The Trumpet has written previously about many Europeans’ lack of knowledge regarding the Holocaust. cnn’s November 2018 European anti-Semitism report, which surveyed more than 7,000 people in mainland Europe and Britain, garnered much attention and demonstrated how widespread anti-Semitism is. It also showed that 34 percent of Europeans know little to nothing about the violence and mass murder of Jews in the World War ii era. About 5 percent say they have never heard of the Holocaust. In France, that figure is 20 percent.
According to the Claims Conference study, 3 out of 4 Austrians believe that Holocaust education should be compulsory in school. It is important to learn about the Holocaust, they say, so that a similar event doesn’t happen again.
The Claims Conference also conducted two other studies in the past year, in America and Canada, which recorded similar results. Most agree that students should be taught about the Holocaust. The facts show, however, that many people are simply not being educated about this disturbing history.
Claims Conference executive vice president Greg Schneider said, “While an overwhelming majority in the Austrian, U.S. and Canadian studies feel the Holocaust should be taught in school, it’s not enough to believe it—we must do more to make it happen.”
More than a quarter of those surveyed said they believe that, based on current political trends, the Jewish people in particular could face another mass genocide sometime soon. More people (35 percent) disagreed with this, but the fact remains that anti-Semitic incidents and attacks are rising across Europe and other parts of the world.
Almost 2 out of 3 Austrians agreed that fewer and fewer people are concerned by the history of the Holocaust. This is a frightening trend!
In a 1948 speech before the British House of Commons, Winston Churchill said, “Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.”
Europeans are forgetting the Holocaust.
The fact that so many Austrians believe another tragedy like the Holocaust could be around the corner is not without merit. In fact, it is something that the Trumpet has been predicting for decades!
We base our predictions and analysis on a source that has proved time and again to be 100 percent accurate: the Holy Bible. A prophecy in Revelation 17 shows that the evil empire that perpetrated the Holocaust is again rising on the world scene today.
Revelation 17 speaks of a “beast,” ridden by a woman, that has seven heads and 10 horns. Our free booklet Germany and the Holy Roman Empire explains that each of these heads is a historic resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire. The last head with the 10 horns is the one rising on the scene now. Over the past 1,500 years, the first six heads were: 1) Justinian and his Imperial Restoration, 2) Charlemagne, 3) Otto the Great, 4) the Habsburg dynasty, 5) Napoleon and 6) Italy and Fascist regimes, culminating with Hitler and Mussolini during World War ii.
Germany—and the Holy Roman Empire—lost World War ii. But that empire did not die completely. Just as it did after the death of every previous head, it went underground. Today, the seventh head is rising up.
Herbert W. Armstrong, editor in chief of the Trumpet’s predecessor, the Plain Truth, attended the 1945 conference in San Francisco, California, that chartered the United Nations. In response to this conference, Mr. Armstrong said:
The war is over in Europe—or is it? We need to wake up and realize that right now is the most dangerous moment in United States national history, instead of assuming we now have peace! …
We don’t understand German thoroughness. From the very start of World War ii, they have considered the possibility of losing this second round, as they did the first—and they have carefully, methodically planned, in such eventuality, the third round—World War iii! Hitler has lost. This round of war, in Europe, is over. And the Nazis have now gone underground. In France and Norway, they learned how effectively an organized underground can hamper occupation and control of a country. Paris was liberated by the French underground—and allied armies. Now a Nazi underground is methodically planned. They plan to come back and to win on the third try.
The Bible foretells that third round—and it spells doom for us, as God’s punishment, because we, as a nation, have forsaken Him and His ways! The third round is termed, in prophecy, an invasion by “Babylon”—a resurrected Roman Empire—a European Union.
Incredibly, Mr. Armstrong made this bold statement even as Germany lay in ruins, with Berlin smoldering from Allied bombings. He did not get this idea from himself or any other person—it came straight from the Bible!
Revelation 17:10 says, “And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.” The time frame of this prophecy was specifically for Mr. Armstrong’s time. The king that “is” was Hitler’s Third Reich. After World War ii, that resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire was defeated and joined the other “five that are fallen.” It no longer “is.”
But the king that “is not yet come” is the European alliance we see rising today, led by Germany!
We must not take this prophecy lightly! In Matthew 24, Jesus Christ foretold a time of suffering like nothing this world has ever experienced. “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (verse 21).
This warning refers to the suffering that will, in large part, be brought upon the world by the seventh and final resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire. As horrific as the Holocaust was, this Great Tribulation will be far worse than anything our world has ever seen! The 58 percent of Austrian respondents do not realize how frighteningly accurate their assessment is.
This is a bleak future for the Earth. But there is a way of escape!
Germany and the Holy Roman Empire concludes:
What is the key to being protected? We must seek God before the Tribulation strikes. That is the formula for escape. Seek God now! “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:6-7).
The history of Germany and the Holy Roman Empire reveals where the events in Europe today are leading. More importantly, God’s prophecies give us an advance preview of what is about to occur in Europe—and how it will affect the whole world. What can you do before it is too late? Seek God while He may be found.

It is crucial that you take this message to heart and “seek God while He may be found.” It is the only way to escape the second and far worse Holocaust.
