Prince Andrew Hastens the Fall of Britain’s Royal Family
Prince Andrew, Duke of York and brother of heir-apparent Prince Charles, was interviewed by bbc on November 16 on the subject of his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein. His interview, broadcast live on prime-time television, revealed a crisis in Britain’s royal family.
bbc’s Emily Maitlis interviewed Prince Andrew, asking about claims that he had slept with a 17-year-old girl who was also abused by Jeffery Epstein. He denied this. Then Maitlis asked: “Do you regret the whole friendship with Epstein?”
The prince responded: “Now, still not, for the reason being is that the people that I met and the opportunities that I was given to learn either by him or because of him were actually very useful.”
Prince Andrew was heavily criticized in the media for his answer, as well as for his justification of his friendship with Epstein.
He explained why he visited Epstein in the United States after Epstein’s first prison sentence, claiming it was merely to break off their friendship. The prince later revealed that he attended a dinner party at Epstein’s home during the course of his stay.
The interview has created a media firestorm. Prince Andrew is accused of showing little regret over his friendship with a convicted sex offender.
The interview was a public relations catastrophe for the royal family. The Telegraph called the prince’s behavior “excruciating” and “extraordinary,” and noted that “as a masterclass in PR disaster, the Prince Andrew interview will not be knocked off the top rank for some time. The prince’s car crash will remain as a lesson on how not to do it and will be studied by a generation of media students.”
The negative publicity that Prince Andrew has brought on the royal family, plus pressure from Prince Charles, caused the Queen to remove him from public duties. “It is unprecedented for a senior royal to be asked to stand down in this way and illustrates how damaging [Prince] Andrew’s bbc Newsnight interview was for himself and the monarchy,” commented the Daily Mail.
Prince Andrew’s disastrous interview has created even more trouble for 93-year-old Queen Elizabeth ii to deal with. Family differences and disputes are possibly making this her most difficult year so far.
Stephen Flurry, host of the Trumpet Daily Radio Show, explained in his November 18 episode why the Queen is facing more and more trouble from within her family.
This latest incident is another reminder that the royal family has been in decline for some years. Prince William and Prince Harry are currently “on different paths,” said Mr. Flurry. Meanwhile, the primary impression that outsiders get of the royals is that of “Harry and Markle lecturing the British public about the environment even as they jet-set around the world.”
Mr. Flurry also noted that the connection between Epstein and Bill Clinton was never mentioned in the bbc documentary or covered in any meaningful way by the media. As early as 2016, the media were aware of Epstein’s illicit activities and the fact that he traveled the world with Clinton. But “that story was squashed,” said Mr. Flurry, because if it had been released in 2016, it could have hurt Hillary Clinton’s chances of being elected. “One wonders why there aren’t a few more reporters in the United States who are curious about Mr. Clinton’s relationship with the late Jeffery Epstein,” said Mr. Flurry.
This is more than another dramatic celebrity scandal. There is a specific cause for the events currently affecting the royal family.
The Telegraph called the interview “a turning point in British history.” And indeed it was. The British people have a long and storied history, but almost nobody is aware that they once sat on the same throne as King David of Israel. This is proved in detail in Herbert W. Armstrong’s free book The United States and Britain in Prophecy (get a free copy here).
In his book The New Throne of David, published in 2018, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry addresses the importance of the British throne and the meaningful symbolism behind the stone of destiny. He also addresses the recent scandals and family issues surrounding the royals, and explains why these are happening.
This is a subject God cares intensely about. It is deeply tied to the most important message of the Bible: God’s ultimate plan to bring all mankind into His Family.
Mr. Flurry warns that “we would see a rapid decline in Britain’s royal family” as we draw closer to the next stage in this plan. We’re seeing this more and more in the royal family.
