Tech giants squash the truth
On Oct. 14, 2020, the New York Post published evidence that former Vice President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, introduced him to a Ukrainian energy executive. This contradicted Joe Biden’s repeated claim that he “never” spoke with his son about his overseas business dealings and indicated that the Biden family could have been trading political favors for financial profit. Two hours after the story was published online, Facebook announced that it was deliberately changing its search algorithms to limit discussion or sharing of the story. Twitter actually locked the account of the New York Post.
Bible prophecy foretold that a movement would cast truth to the ground in the end time (Daniel 8:12). Anciently, Antiochus Epiphanes fulfilled this prophecy when he attempted to force the Jewish people to give up their religion and embrace paganism. But the book of Daniel is primarily for the end time (Daniel 8:17-19; 12:4, 9). Sadly, the principle described in this prophecy is applying to America more and more, as “transgression,” or sin increases and truth is cast down.
Missouri elects Black Lives Matter activist
Black Lives Matter activist Cori Bush won 79 percent of the vote in Missouri’s 1st Congressional District and will become Missouri’s first black congresswoman. She rose to prominence after the shooting of Michael Brown in 2014.
Bush and other newly elected progressive lawmakers plan to form an expanded “Squad 2.0” with radical representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts. The fact that this far-left political group keeps adding members is an indicator of how many Americans have replaced the moral teachings of the Bible with the beliefs of evolution, Marxism and Critical Race Theory.
American universities are on foreign payrolls
On Oct. 20, 2020, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos reported that since 2014, colleges and universities in the United States failed to disclose more than $6.5 billion in funding from China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and other foreign nations. These nations are using this outreach to influence the next generation of Americans for their benefit. This strategy harms America’s national security in the long term and in the near term.
The Department of Education drew particular attention to funding from Confucius Institutes, which gives money to colleges in return for the opportunity to teach Chinese language and culture to students. Their goal is to teach future American leaders to take a more accommodating position toward Chinese human rights abuses in Taiwan and Tibet.
The Prophet Isaiah specifically corrected Americans’ ancestors for forsaking God’s law and pursuing Eastern philosophies. “O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord. Therefore thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east, and are soothsayers like the Philistines, and they please themselves in the children of strangers” (Isaiah 2:5-6). Prestigious universities like Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Oxford once required daily Bible study. But now they teach evolution, socialism and Eastern philosophy while accepting money from Communists and Islamists who want to promote their values to American students.
Americans vote for more drugs
Voters sent a clear message on Election Night: They want illegal drugs legalized. Residents of Arizona, Montana, New Jersey and South Dakota voted to legalize recreational use of marijuana on Nov. 3, 2020, joining 11 other states that have already done so. Washington, D.C., voted to decriminalize the use of psychedelic mushrooms, and Oregon voted to decriminalize possession of all illicit drugs—including cocaine, heroin and methamphetamines.
Widespread approval of drug use in America is a sign of terminal spiritual sickness. The Bible calls this sickness pharmakeia, and it is listed as one of the works of the flesh in Galatians 5:19-20. The King James translation renders this word as “witchcraft,” but a more exact rendering is “use of drugs.” Millions of Americans use marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines and other drugs—legally and illegally—for moments of fleeting hallucinatory euphoria in a vain attempt to fill the spiritual void in their lives.
