U.S. Military Now ‘Weak’

Under Joe Biden, the United States military has grown so weak that it may no longer be able to protect America’s global interests, the Heritage Foundation says. Its annual evaluation of U.S. military preparedness, published on October 18, found that America’s armed forces are “at growing risk of not being able to meet the demands of defending America’s vital national interests.”

Historic weakness: The Heritage Foundation’s 2023 Index of U.S. Military Strength ranked the military as “weak” for the first time in the index’s nine-year history. It noted that years of “sustained use, underfunding, poorly defined priorities, wildly shifting security policies, exceedingly poor discipline in program execution, and a profound lack of seriousness across the national security establishment” have sapped U.S. strength to the point where it can no longer win victories in two major conflicts at once in different areas of the world.

Executive summary: The Marine Corps was the only U.S. military branch ranked as “strong.” The Army ranked as “marginal,” the Navy as “weak,” Space Force as “weak,” and the Air Force as “very weak.” According to this assessment:

• The Army has only 62 percent of the force it should.
• The Navy has only 75 percent of the manned ships it should have to protect America’s trade routes.
• Space Force has only a fraction of the capabilities required to win a conflict in space.
• The Air Force has only 86 percent of the force it should and is short 650 pilots.

Sabotage: Many people worry that America’s weakened armed forces will soon lose their competitive advantage against adversaries such as China, Iran and Russia. There is evidence that this is precisely what the radical Biden administration wants.

• During his first five years in office, President Barack Obama relieved close to 200 generals and many other high-ranking officers of their command.
• Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely (Ret.) warned that Obama was “intentionally weakening and gutting our military, Pentagon and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.”

Prophecy says: The Bible prophesies that end-time Israel (America, Britain and the Jewish nation in the Middle East primarily) would lose their military strength due to sin. One specific prophecy says God would cut “cut off thy horses,” “destroy thy chariots,” and “throw down all thy strong holds” (Micah 5:10-11) because Americans have turned away from God. God says that at the moment America reaches the zenith of its power, He will cut off its weapons systems and throw down its bases.
