Stoltenberg Calls On NATO Members to ‘Ramp Up’ Arms Production
Members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization need to increase weapons production in the coming months, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told the German news agency dpa on December 30. As the war in Ukraine drags on, more and more are calling on Europe to arm in response—but this could have unintended consequences.
More weapons needed: Stoltenberg noted in an interview on bbc Radio 4 that nato needs to have enough weapons for its own defense and to supply weapons to Ukraine in the future.
The Ukrainian forces had the momentum for several months, but we also know that Russia has mobilized many more forces, many of them are now training. All that indicates that they are prepared to continue the war and also try to potentially launch a new offensive.

A good sign of a bad sign: The trend of Europe militarizing has in the past sent shock waves through the world. This time the trend is seen in a different light and even encouraged. Western leaders hope European countries will balance out Russia’s military aggression. Collectively, the European Union actually spends far more on its militaries than Russia and has a superior military industry.
The Trumpet sees Europe’s military buildup in a different light.
The Bible’s warning: Bible prophecy warns that although the world celebrates Europe’s military rise, we should be alarmed. As we wrote in September 2017:
Simple self-preservation provides a powerful motivation to watch Europe for any sign of a unified military power. But the ultimate reason the Trumpet watches this trend is Bible prophecy.
[The late Herbert W.] Armstrong based his prophecies on scriptures found in Daniel 2 and 7 and Revelation 13 and 17. These describe a European power made up of 10 nations or groups of nations that would appear in this end time. …
Many other passages warn of a great war-making power in this end time. In Isaiah 10:5-7, God says that He has raised up Germany—end-time Assyria—to “destroy and cut off nations not a few.” Habakkuk talks about the same time period, calling the end-time European power “Chaldeans”—this time referring to the religious nature of this power. He describes them as a “bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwelling places that are not theirs.”
I encourage you to read our Trends article “Why the Trumpet Watches Europe’s Push Toward a Unified Military” to learn where these events are leading.
