Terrorist Attacks in Two Churches in Spain

A man wielding a machete entered two churches in the Spanish port city of Algeciras on January 25 and killed one person and injured four others, according to police. Yassin K., a Moroccan citizen who has been in Spain illegally, is said to have shouted “Allahu Akbar” (“God is great”) during the attack.

Religious attack: The attacker appeared to specifically target clergymen. The one man killed, Diego Valencia, was just a church official, but he may have been mistaken for a priest. “Possibly, this death was meant for me and it found him instead,” the priest at Nuestra Senora de La Palma, Juan Jose Marina, told broadcaster ser. Another priest of the parish church of San Isidro, Antonio Rodriguez, was injured. Prior to the attack, Yassin called on worshipers to convert to Islam.

More terrorism: The same day, a Palestinian refugee from Gaza stabbed seven passengers on a train in Germany, injuring five and killing two. On January 15, in northern Nigeria, a Catholic priest was burned to death.

Prophecy says: The Bible gives insight into the origins and trajectory of conflicts and religious tension. The world is under the influence of extreme diabolical deception (Revelation 12:9). Even the religions of this world have been deceived. This deception has led to conflicts in the past and will lead to the greatest crisis in world history—starting with a clash between radical Islam and Catholic Europe.
