Large Chinese Reconnaissance Balloon Floats Unhindered Over United States
A high-altitude reconnaissance balloon entered Montana airspace on February 2 after floating over western Canada. A day before the balloon entered the United States, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin convened a meeting of senior military and defense leaders to discuss what to do about it.
The Pentagon believes the balloon is a Chinese espionage device. Still, senior Biden administration officials have decided not to shoot it down because of the risk to people on the ground from possible debris. So, the balloon will likely float over the U.S. for a few more days before it passes over the Carolinas next week into Atlantic Ocean airspace.
Diplomatic standoff: Secretary of State Antony Blinken postponed a scheduled visit to China after the balloon entered U.S. airspace, so a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman clarified that the balloon is an airship used for meteorological research. Yet many conservatives do not buy this explanation and want the balloon shot down. On February 2, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene called on Joe Biden to shoot down the spy balloon “immediately,” suggesting that Donald Trump would have already done so if he were in the White House.
The next day, President Trump confirmed that Rep. Greene was right by issuing a Truth Social post simply saying, “SHOOT DOWN THE BALLOON.” Meanwhile, other Republicans have taken a more cautious approach by saying the military should have shot down the balloon when it entered U.S. airspace, but not necessarily saying that the military should shoot it down now that the Chinese have clarified it is for meteorological research.
Prophecy says: A Chinese dissident revealed five years ago that Beijing’s spy networks in the United States include up to 25,000 intelligence officers and 18,000 recruited agents. So, it is naïve to think the Communist Party of China is not using this “meteorological” reconnaissance balloon to collect sensitive information about the United States. But in case after case, the Biden administration has proved that it is more interested in kowtowing to China than in fighting for American interests.
A sobering prophecy about end-time Israel recorded in Leviticus 26:15-19 says: “And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror …. And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass.” America has abhorred God’s commandments, so now the pride of their power is broken. It would be easy to shoot down the balloon, but Biden does not want to offend China.
