Israel and U.S. to Work Out Deal Allowing Saudi Uranium Enrichment

Israel is working on a deal with the Biden administration to allow Saudi Arabia to openly enrich uranium, the Wall Street Journal reported on September 21.

As part of the deal, Saudi Arabia will recognize Israel in exchange for a United States-run uranium enrichment system being set up in the country. The deal would make Saudi Arabia the second country in the Middle East, after Iran, to openly develop the capability.

Peace? Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Joe Biden that the deal could lead to a “historic peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia” and that it would “advance the end of the Arab-Israeli conflict.”

Playing with fire: Netanyahu faces strong opposition to the deal. Allowing the Saudis to develop nuclear weapons could cause a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, achieving anything but peace.

Israeli support for Saudi enrichment would represent a radical policy shift for a country that has opposed nuclear proliferation in the Middle East since inception, and for a prime minister who has devoted his career to opposing Iranian enrichment.

Prophecy says: Most “peace” agreements between Arab nations and Israel are not favorable. Bible prophecy says Saudi Arabia will unite with other Arab nations against the United States, the United Kingdom and Israel.

Psalm 83 says Assur, or modern-day Germany, will play a major role in uniting these nations with the primary goal of destroying Israel. “They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee (verses 4-5).
