Report: U.S. Must Prepare for Nuclear War With Russia and China
The United States is “ill prepared” for a possible simultaneous war with Russia and China as both countries build up their nuclear arsenals, a report by the Congressional Commission on the Strategic Posture of the U.S. said on October 12.
The report said the risk of nuclear war against the U.S. has grown as tensions rise. It warned that China will reach the same amount of deployed nuclear warheads as the U.S. by the mid-2030s if nuclear expansion continues at current rates. Russia will likely continue to be the largest nuclear power in the world, it added.
[O]ur nation will soon encounter a fundamentally different global setting than it has ever experienced: We will face a world where two nations possess nuclear arsenals on par with our own …. [T]hese threats are such that the United States and its allies and partners must be ready to deter and defeat both adversaries simultaneously.
—Congressional Commission on the Strategic Posture of the U.S.
Existential crisis: The commission said the U.S. needs to modernize and expand its nuclear program and armed forces to be capable of deterring Russia and China simultaneously. These needs must be addressed now to prepare for this “existential challenge,” the report said.
Nuclear Armageddon: The growing number of nuclear weapons in the world is very concerning. In Matthew 24, Jesus Christ prophesied of a global nuclear war that could wipe out every human on Earth: “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved …” (verse 22).
Fortunately, the Bible shows that Christ will intervene before that can happen and establish God’s government of prosperity and peace on Earth.
