German Forces to the Red Sea?

Iran-backed terrorist groups are shutting down crucial maritime routes leading through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal. Following attacks on merchant ships on December 15, German Defense Committee chairwoman Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann called for the German Navy to participate in a multilateral mission ensuring free maritime traffic.

A spokeswoman for the Federal Foreign Office said the ship attacks were completely unacceptable. But will Germany defend its interests militarily?

More and more people are demanding just that.

Last Thursday, German shipowners called on the German government and the European Union to secure the route. Germany’s Defense Ministry is examining a corresponding request from the United States.

“We should support the Navy protecting the ships together with international partners,” Strack-Zimmermann told German news agency dpa. It is only “logical that everyone who depends on their goods being transported through the Red Sea should take part,” she added.

Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists is only a small part of a much larger conflict with earthshaking consequences. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called on December 13 for a “pacification of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict” so that Israel could “focus on the most important strategic threat: Iran and its regional supporters.”

Iran is the chief sponsor of terrorism in the Middle East. For three decades, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has warned that a major conflict between a German-led European conglomerate and radical Islam led by Iran would escalate. This predication is based on Bible prophecy that we now see coming to pass.

Mr. Flurry has identified Iran as the prophesied king of the south in end-time prophecy: “And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over” (Daniel 11:40). When he first made this identification in the 1990s, almost nobody talked about Iran. But today it is indisputable who the real power in the Middle East is.

In his booklet The King of the South, Mr. Flurry explains:

The king of the south is going to push at the king of the north, probably brandishing its power over the Mediterranean-Red Sea route. Libya, Ethiopia and the other nations along the Red Sea play a key role in Iran’s trade route strategy. That push will be a dramatic act of war that will provoke a violent response from the king of the north.

We are now seeing this prophesied push! But while some are starting to wake up to the Iranian threat, 30 years too late, our world continues to be oblivious to the even greater threat to world peace posed by Germany. In our most recent Trumpet issue, Mr. Flurry wrote: “The most shocking problem in the Middle East is not what is happening in Gaza but what is happening with Germany.”

Germany is preparing to push back against Iran. But that’s not all: It is also preparing to dominate the region! The world scoffed at Winston Churchill’s warnings of German militarism prior to World War ii, and the world is even more oblivious to Germany’s military ambition today. Although we lack a Churchill today, God’s message is going out. And the Bible is clear: German ambitions will lead to World War iii.

These events have been foretold in detail in the world’s bestseller—the Bible. But the meaning of these prophecies has been hidden until our day (Daniel 12:4, 9). God has revealed these prophecies now because their fulfillment is at hand. To learn more, read The King of the South (free upon request).
