Iran Builds Missile Factories in Yemeni Mountains
Iran is building missile factories deep in Yemen’s mountains, a high-ranking member of Iran’s Quds Force told Kuwait-based Al-Jarida newspaper on Monday.
The report came shortly after the Houthis announced they would be widening their scope of attack into the Mediterranean Sea, calling this their “fourth phase of escalation.”
Package deal: To aid with the operation of Yemen’s weapons factories, Iran is providing:
- Advanced missiles and drones
- Large quantities of components to enable Yemenis to manufacture their own weapons
- In-person operational training from Iranian military experts
- In-person drone and missile assemblage training for Houthi engineering officers
The Quds member explained that running weapons factories in Yemen will be successful because it won’t require large shipments, which are subject to monitoring by the United States and Israel. Instead, the Iranians will smuggle small quantities as needed.
Other stations: The source also said that Iran has already set up wireless communication stations throughout Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestinian territories. Their small size, apparently the size of a solar-powered laptop with an antenna, makes it easy to evade monitoring.
They have also established stations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden that do not depend on gps. This helps explain how the Houthis launched their first blue-water attack in the Arabian Sea earlier this month.
No longer hiding: Iran is no longer trying to conceal its close ties with the Houthis and other terrorist groups. As its power and influence increase, this situation will culminate in a clash of civilizations.
