French General: Europe Must Improve Military Mobilization
Europe needs to improve how it transports troops and armaments across the Continent if it is to deter Russian aggression, French Gen. Bertrand Toujouse told Politico.
In 2022, it became evident how difficult it is to move troops across Europe after France sent a battalion to Romania. “There’s a war in Ukraine, but customs officials explain that you don’t have the right tonnage per axle and that your tanks aren’t allowed to cross Germany,” explained Toujouse.
Effective military mobilization not only requires cooperation between European countries but also quality and quantity of infrastructure. Europe currently lacks the bridges, tunnels and railroads necessary to transport troops and armaments.
Earlier this year, France, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands and others signed a Military Mobility Pledge to address these problems.
Rehearsal: What used to be a “very simple” task during the Cold War “has gradually become extremely complex,” the general said. “It’s absolutely essential to put military mobility back into European minds, and for this we need to practice.”
Notice that the current mobilization issue isn’t just about countering the Russian threat but it is an opportunity to “practice” for future conflicts.
Whirlwind: Daniel 11:40 prophesies of a German-led European army that will conquer its enemies with whirlwind-like speed. If Europe unites by cutting the administrative rules required to pass through its states, it will be one step closer to mobilizing a powerful blitzkrieg force.
