Russia Conducts Largest Air Attack on Ukraine Since War’s Start
Russia fired more than 320 missiles and drones at Ukrainian cities from Monday evening into Tuesday, marking its largest air attack on Ukraine since the war began. The strikes on civilian targets in Kyiv and other cities killed at least eight people and injured dozens more.
- The weapons included cruise missiles and hypersonic Kinzhal missiles.
- Electricity and water supplies were disrupted in several cities.
- Ukrainian officials say they could prevent many such attacks if the United States and Europe gave them permission to use U.S. and European weapons to strike Russia’s missile and drone launch sites inside Russia.
In order to stop the barbaric shelling of Ukrainian cities, it is necessary to destroy the place from which the Russian missiles are launched.
—Denys Shmyhal, Ukrainian prime minister
U.S. officials and some European ones say the weapons they provide Ukraine can only be used to strike Russian military targets within occupied parts of Ukraine. This allows Russia to fire with near impunity from just across the border.
Putin’s determination: This week’s massive attack indicates that Russian President Vladimir Putin remains fiercely determined to conquer Ukraine. Whatever the outcome of this conflict, Bible prophecy shows that Putin will eventually lead a vast Asian army that will fight much larger wars.
