Who Is Behind the Attempt to Kill Trump?

Yesterday, Donald Trump survived another assassination attempt just two months after a bullet nicked his ear. This man’s life is clearly in danger, and there are serious questions about the trustworthiness of his security services.

Many people are asking whether Trump will survive until the election. I answer this question in my September Trumpet cover story: “Why God Is Protecting Donald Trump.”

That article quotes a public address I gave on June 1, where I said this about Trump’s chances to return to the White House: “There are some people thinking, well, OK, he’s probably going to win it if he doesn’t get assassinated. Well, he isn’t going to get assassinated. He isn’t going to get assassinated—or how could he come back and fulfill a very great prophecy in Amos 7? From the beginning we’ve always said that because it’s in Bible prophecy.”

When I said that, there was no overt attempt to kill Donald Trump. Now we have seen two failed assassinations.

I continue to stand by my statement because it is not based on my insight, but on Bible prophecy. Truly, “there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets” (Daniel 2:28).

Even before his first election victory in 2016, I pointed to Donald Trump fulfilling the role of a prophesied Jeroboam in Amos 7.

God used a man named Jeroboam to lead the 10 tribes of Israel after the kingdom of Israel split. Generations later, God used another man, Jeroboam ii, to lead Israel into a temporary resurgence. Neither of these men were righteous. Nonetheless, God ensured they were able to act according to His will and live to fulfill His plan. He will do the same for this modern type of King Jeroboam ii.

Even after the election was stolen from him in 2020, I have consistently pointed to Donald Trump not yet having fulfilled Amos 7. In the 2020 election, I even believed that he would remain in the White House because of it. What I did not fully understand at the time was the vicious attack he would have to oppose—as prophesied in 2 Kings 14:26-28.

This prophetic passage, from a part of the Bible called the “former prophets,” revolves around an effort to “blot out the name of Israel from under heaven.” As Herbert W. Armstrong explained in The United States and Britain in Prophecy, the most prominent modern descendants of “Israel” referred to here are Americans! The prophecy shows that God “saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.” It also shows that this modern Jeroboam, like his ancient forerunner, would have to “war” for it (verse 28).

Bible prophecy also reveals who Donald Trump would be warring against.

As my book America Under Attack proves, there is an evil spiritual force behind the effort to discredit, attack, impeach, vilify, accuse, raid and convict Mr. Trump. This evil spirit is stirring up deep-seated hatred with horrific violent potential. The efforts of these would-be assassins are the most obvious sign. These attempts to kill Donald Trump have a spiritual origin.

Despite all these attacks, Mr. Trump is fighting his way back to the White House. Even attempted assassinations will not stop him. Why? Because God’s purpose will stand.

Still, these events should cause Americans to be asking a lot of probing questions. It is important to understand why God is even allowing these attacks. This truly is a curse on our nation! And Bible prophecy shows that, though God is going to temporarily save the nation through this modern-day Jeroboam, the curses on America are actually going to intensify as long as America fails to turn to God in repentance.

What all Americans need to understand is that God’s assessment of the nation as a whole is that we are a “sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity …. [T]he whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint” (Isaiah 1:4-5). This is not a popular message. But we must come to see this reality as God does.

While God will bring back Donald Trump, this satanic attack will not end until our nation—and, ultimately, the world—repents before God.

I hope you will look into the deeper lessons God wants us to draw from these horrific events. He is shaping events to ensure that His purposes are fulfilled. “This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men” (Daniel 4:17).
