Russia and Indonesia Engage in First Joint Naval Exercise
Russia and Indonesia commenced their first bilateral naval exercises on Monday, according to an announcement by the Indonesian Navy. The “Orruda–2024” exercises are scheduled to wrap up on Friday.
Russian warships came from afar to Indonesia and conducted joint exercises for the first time that seek to improve diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Russia, especially the navies.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has called Russia “a great friend” and said he wishes to “enhance this relationship.”
Neutral?: As Indonesia celebrates its close connection with Moscow and shows an interest in joining the Russia-led brics alliance, it has simultaneously begun military drills with Australia and continues to hold annual exercises with the United States.
Indonesia wants to maintain good relations with several key players in the region, but this will be difficult to maintain.
Crossroads: Indonesia’s location between the Indian and Pacific oceans gives it strategic value. As global tensions rise, it will eventually have to choose a side or be forced onto one. And the Bible indicates which it will be.
Ezekiel 38 and Revelation 9:16 describe a bloc of Asian nations that will soon come together under Russia’s leadership. In addition to China, India and Japan, this alliance will include smaller Asian nations; Indonesia may well be among them.
