German Companies Prepare for War

The German military has started preparing companies for war, according to a Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung report published November 18. The preparations follow the outline of a 1,000-page secret strategy paper titled “Operation Plan Germany” adopted by politicians earlier this year. Only broad details are known.

The goal: German companies must prepare to face the strains of war and help in defense operations. Companies are advised to draw up a concrete plan for employees and ensure self-sufficiency where possible through diesel generators or wind turbines.

We need to raise awareness of how important a well-prepared and resilient economy is for Germany’s civilian and military defense.
—Malte Heyne, managing director of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce

Lt. Col. Jörn Plischke reportedly told companies at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce:

For every hundred employees, train at least five additional lorry drivers that you don’t need. [Because] 70 percent of all lorries on Germany’s roads are driven by Eastern Europeans. If there is a war there, where will these people be?

At another event, Plischke noted:

What do we do if allied troops have to pass through our city? What do we do if the Elbe is closed and the railway network is under attack? What do we do if Rewe and Aldi can’t open due to a lack of electricity, the roads are used by military columns, and water no longer flows from the tap?

Joint exercises: “Red Storm Alpha,” the first joint exercises between civilian forces and the Bundeswehr, has already taken place. The “Red Storm Bravo” expanded exercise is being prepared.

If it were essential to avert serious dangers, the regulations would even allow the entire economy to be converted to a planned economy by the state.
—Bertram Brossardt, managing director of the Bavarian Business Association

War is coming: The Bible reveals our world is heading toward what Jesus Christ called the “great tribulation” (Matthew 24:21). This war will no doubt be nuclear. Christ warned the destruction will be so great that no one would be left alive unless He intervened (verse 22).
