Biden Continues Iranian Support
Just days after Donald Trump won reelection, United States President Joe Biden’s administration renewed a sanctions waiver allowing Iran access to $10 billion in payments from Iraq, the Washington Free Beacon reported on Tuesday, citing a copy of a nonpublic order sent to Congress.
The waiver will last 120 days. The State Department confirmed the decision last week.
Although the U.S. is a longtime ally of Israel—Iran’s number one enemy—the Biden administration continues to aid Tehran.
Details: This was not the first time the administration has helped Iran in this way. It gave relief throughout Biden’s term, including a month before Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, attack.
- Though these funds are designed for humanitarian needs, money is fungible, and this aid can directly help Iran’s military goals.
Biden is following on from Barack Obama’s Middle East policy, which led to the Iran nuclear deal. Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry called that 2016 deal “the worst foreign-policy blunder in American history.”
Prophetic perspective: The Bible prophesied of this agenda to harm Israel. It also reveals Trump’s return to the White House will directly help Jerusalem. This story helps prove the validity of Bible prophecy.
