Terrorist Drives Car Into Crowd at Christmas Market in Germany
A man deliberately drove a car into a crowd at a German Christmas market in Magdeburg on Friday, killing at least two and injuring more than 60 according to Bild.
The terrorist broke through barriers and drove 400 meters across the market while plowing through the crowd.
The driver, a 50-year-old from Saudi Arabia, has been arrested. The man had a number of suitcases with him in the car, which police searched for explosives.
Terrorism: The attack was a “terrible event, especially now in the days before Christmas,” the premier of Saxony-Anhalt said.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz said the incident in Magdeburg “raises the worst fears.” “My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones,” he added.
The attack came a day after the eighth anniversary of the terrible Christmas market attack on Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz, during which Islamist Anis Amri killed 13 people and injured more than 70.
In response to the attack, Elon Musk called for Scholz to resign immediately.
Europe’s response: Expect Germany and the rest of Europe to take an even bolder stance against immigration as the Continent turns further to the right and grows more dissatisfied with its current governments.
