Nine Nations Join BRICS as Observers
Nine nations joined brics—an economic group named after its first five members Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa—as “partner countries” on Wednesday.
brics is widely seen as an anti-West group. Though it has little cohesion at present, its growth may still be an ominous sign for the United States.
Expansion:
- In 2024, Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates joined the coalition, although Argentina later withdrew.
- The nations that joined Wednesday as observer “partner countries” are Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Uganda and Uzbekistan.
Algeria, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Vietnam have been invited to join but so far have declined.
Prophesied alliance: The Bible prophesies of a massive economic alliance that will soon shut the U.S. and its allies out of global trade. The expansion of brics shows that many nations are eager to work against America. This may help establish the groundwork for this prophesied alliance.
