Donald Trump has been the president of the United States for a single day, and he is already hard at work. He has reversed key moves that Barack Obama and Joe Biden made over the past 16 years. In his inaugural speech yesterday, with Obama and Biden seated just a few feet away, President Trump said, “Our recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal, and all of these many betrayals that have taken place, and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy and indeed their freedom. From this moment on, America’s decline is over. Our liberties and our nation’s glorious destiny will no longer be denied, and we will immediately restore the integrity, competency and loyalty of America’s government.”

Soon after the inauguration, President Trump began signing executive actions and executive orders in quick succession, including at the indoor parade at Capitol One Arena in front of thousands of cheering supporters. The decision to sign these orders in front of an audience, instead of only in the Oval Office at the White House, was a first in U.S. history. This approach highlighted the fact that President Trump is indeed leading a populist revolution against the “deep state.”

President Trump has already signed more than 200 executive actions, memoranda and proclamations. These actions fulfilled campaign promises and reversed many policies implemented by Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

Some of President Trump’s executive actions were symbolic, such as his order to fly federal flags at full staff on Inauguration Day and renaming Mount Denali to Mount McKinley and the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Others were more forceful, such as his order to seal the U.S.-Mexico border and designate drug cartels as terrorist organizations. President Trump also pardoned or commuted the sentences of more than 1,500 January 6 protesters and fired more than 1,000 Biden administration employees opposed to the Make America Great Again movement. He also immediately announced that the federal government now recognized the fact that there are only two sexes, male and female, and that the federal government will stop socially engineering race and gender into everything it has power over.

The common theme running through President Trump’s avalanche of actions is reversing the “horrible betrayal” perpetrated by radical-left elites for the past 16 years. Roughly 40 percent of his executive actions (78 of them) so far are deliberate reversals of “destructive and radical executive actions of the previous administration.”

Barack Obama—and Barack Obama through Joe Biden—intentionally flooded the nation with illegal immigrants, crippled its energy reserves and production, and staffed the government and even the military with radicals. President Trump started undoing the damage before he even went to bed, and reports are that he was up before dawn this morning getting more done.

You can see all of President Trump’s executive actions and orders here. What we are looking at here is a pre-planned, organized, legally structured, laser-focused, unapologetic campaign to undo Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of the United States of America.

On the foreign-policy front, President Trump announced an official audit of the Chinese company that runs two ports on the Panama Canal and exerts de facto control over it. The president is citing the fact that the U.S. ceded the canal back to the government of Panama on the grounds that it would remain diplomatically neutral, and he is working to loosen Communist China’s grip on this crucial passage. Panama is going to have to be much more transparent about who controls what on the canal or accept America’s reasserting control over what it built.

President Theodore Roosevelt, who presided over the construction of the Panama Canal, feared God and acted courageously when he initiated construction. My father, Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry, noted in a recent Key of David program that Mr. Trump is also going to have to fear God and act courageously if he wants to protect the canal. “If we want to be great, we’ll only be great through God and fearing Him,” he said in “Bible Prophecy Reveals How We Won and Lost the Panama Canal.” “Maybe President Donald Trump, when he gets in office and is inaugurated, he has the power to do a lot of things. And there will be more miracles that come if we learn a lesson in that process. God wants to teach us how to fear God and not have to be punished for our sins.”

Most people do not realize how close the U.S. came to complete collapse. Even most conservatives do not realize this. During President Trump’s first term, my father wrote: “Had Hillary Clinton been elected, the destructive trends that unfolded during the Obama presidency would have continued unchecked, and they surely would have intensified. Many people—including me—believe it would have meant an end to our constitutional republic!”

This statement may sound extreme. But look at the Obama agenda from 2008 to 2016, and the undermining of the first Trump presidency from 2016 to 2020. Look at the stolen 2020 presidential election: Our constitutional republic did indeed end for a period of four years as Obama re-exerted his anti-American agenda through Biden. Even Donald Trump was unable to stop a cabal of Democratic operatives from subverting the will of the people and installing Joe Biden, an unelected technocrat, for an entire presidential term. When you truly understand this, you realize that Trump’s miracle victory did not save America’s constitutional form of government. Rather, it miraculously restored America’s constitutional form of government four years after it died.

It would be a serious mistake to take this miracle lightly!

The avalanche of executive orders Trump signed yesterday truly does begin the process of reversing a “horrible betrayal.” But Americans need more than just a remarkable leader and executive orders. We must use this momentary window of opportunity to recognize that we almost lost our country not just because of Biden or Obama but because of our own sins and the fatal flaws in our morality and our religion. God is giving us one last chance to turn to Him. As the Trumpet has said for years now, citing 2 Kings 14:26-28, God is using an end-time type of King Jeroboam ii—temporarily.
