6,000 German AI Drones for Ukraine

Germany will deliver 6,000 of the world’s most modern kamikaze drones to Ukraine this year, Germany’s Helsing drone manufacturer told Bild on Thursday.

Newest version: Unlike the 4,000 artificial intelligence combat drones Helsing delivered to Ukraine in November 2024, the new delivery is not a German-Ukrainian coproduction of the HF-1 drone type. It is an even more sophisticated German in-house production of the HX-2 type, Bild reported.

The war in Ukraine shows on a daily basis that modern, precise technology can compensate for numerical disadvantages compared to older systems. nato must quickly learn the right lessons from this. With our Resilience Factories, we are focusing on decentralized mass production throughout Europe.
—Gundbert Scherf, Helsing cofounder
