Vatican: Pope’s Health a ‘Complex Clinical Situation’
Pope Francis, who was admitted to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on Friday, is receiving treatment for a “complex clinical situation” and will remain under medical care for as long as needed, the Vatican announced on Monday. The 88-year-old pontiff has suffered with bronchitis symptoms for several days.
Falls: Francis has also suffered falls recently, reported on December 7 and January 16, that have raised health concerns.
Europe leaderless: Through the centuries, popes have given Europe guidance and recently played a critical role in helping free East European countries from Soviet rule. Europe now faces numerous crises, but it lacks dynamic political and religious leaders to guide it through.
Dramatic change ahead: The Trumpet expects Europe to unite powerfully under the guidance of the Catholic Church in the near future. This will almost certainly be under the leadership of a new pope.
