Hamas Admits to Lying About Civilian Death Toll

Hamas’s most recent casualty update removed the names of thousands of Palestinians Hamas previously claimed were killed during the Israel-Hamas war, Salo Aizenberg from the United States-based nonprofit organization Honest Reporting told the Telegraph on Tuesday.

  • The March casualty update dropped 3,400 “identified” deaths listed in the August and October 2024 reports, including 1,080 children.
  • Around 72 percent of fatalities ages 13 to 55 are men, aligning with the age range of Hamas combatants.

Deceit: This is not the first time Hamas has been exposed for lying about war facts to paint Israel as evil. A December report by the Henry Jackson Society found that the number of civilians killed in the war had likely been inflated by Hamas to vilify the Israelis. Yet many in the mainstream media continue to echo Hamas’s consistently false numbers and narratives.

Exposing evil: In his article “Truth and Lies About the Israel-Hamas War,” Mihailo Zekic wrote:

[T]ruth brings fundamental justice to those who have been wronged. If there was ever a time when Israel and the world needed to cast aside lies and embrace the truth, it is now.
