Sudanese Army Fully Captures the Capital

The Sudanese Armed Forces (saf) fully drove the Rapid Support Forces (rsf) out of Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, War Monitor reported on April 7.

Why it matters: This is a major victory for the Iran-backed saf, which could enable Iran to take over this strategic country.

Turn of the tide: When the Sudanese civil war began almost two years ago, the saf was almost pushed out of Khartoum. It lost nearly every battle in the war’s first 18 months.

But the situation changed when Iran stepped in to aid the saf. Since then, the rsf has struggled to score any victory as its opponent has blazed through Sudan in a nonstop offensive beginning in October.

Now, after officially taking the capital city a few weeks ago, the saf has solidified its control along the city’s outskirts. This is a huge morale boost for the saf and a strategic blow to the rsf.

The saf controls the entire eastern shore of the Nile River, and it seems only a matter of time before it controls the whole river.

  • rsf strongholds are west of the Nile.
  • The saf has been making gains in the west.
  • The saf can likely send more troops with superior weaponry to the western front now.

To win this war, the rsf will probably have to push the saf back to the Nile with an offensive strong enough to cross the river and keep pushing east.

Prophetic perspective: The Bible reveals that Iran will soon control several African nations on the Red Sea. This update shows Iran is gaining that prophesied control in Africa.
