China and Vietnam Sign Multiple Cooperation Deals

Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping met with Vietnam’s top leaders on Monday to sign numerous cooperation deals.

  • These deals included increased railway, infrastructure, defense and diplomacy cooperation.

Southeast Asia tour: Xi’s visit to Vietnam is part of a trip through Southeast Asia designed to strengthen ties between China and countries in the region. These efforts come largely in response to United States’ tariffs targeted at Chinese trade.

Anti-America alliance: Ahead of his visit, Xi said, “Trade war and tariff war will produce no winner” and protectionism “leads nowhere.” Xi is shoring up support around Southeast Asia against the U.S.

Vietnam has been an important partner of the U.S., but as tensions and insecurities in the region rise, China is intensifying its effort to bring Vietnam into its orbit.

Asian axis: The Bible prophesies of a powerful alliance of Asian nations that will work to freeze the U.S. out of global trade. The Bible refers to this alliance as the “kings of the east” and foretells its pivotal role in a coming global conflict.
