Dangerous Deceit
Dangerous Deceit
A famous theologian recently made this statement: “The Bible says clearly that God has already revealed Himself fully and completely to us. He has done this both in the pages of the Bible, the written word of God, and through Jesus Christ, the living word of God.
“If we accept who Jesus is as He is presented to us in the New Testament, then we will not look for any further revelation, nor has God promised any…. God’s revelation is complete….”
He would have you believe that there would be no new revelation after the first century. He believes the “Bible says clearly” that God’s revelation to us is full and complete and has been for about 2,000 years.
It is hard to envision how he could be more dangerously wrong!
The whole book of Daniel is not to be revealed until this end time (Dan. 12:4, 9). God said He would send an end-time Elijah to “restore all things” just before Christ returns (Matt. 17:10-11).
That means that true religion was almost totally lost! And God sent a man—a prophet—to reveal “all things” to the very elect. That means the whole religious world would have been deceived in this end time! (Rev. 12:9).
This end-time Elijah was to be sent “before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord” (Mal. 4:5-6). He would give a warning of the worst time of suffering ever on this earth (Jer. 30:7; Dan. 12:1; Matt. 24:21). This man would obviously teach God’s revelation and warn of God’s coming wrath.
Where does that leave people who believe that we are to receive no more revelation? They will become deceived victims of the worst holocaust ever!
They would reject the very man God sent—and therefore reject God.
That means this famous theologian is going to be greatly responsible for those people who believe him. But that doesn’t mean they won’t suffer!
Read the major prophets—Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel. Also read the minor prophets—Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zechariah, Zephaniah, Haggai and Malachi. You will see that they all are essentially for the end time.
That also applies to Daniel and Revelation, and Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 of the Gospels and many other parts of the New Testament.
Did you know that one-third of your Bible is prophecy? And that 90 percent of that prophecy is for this end time only? So God must reveal all that prophecy to us today.
This famous religious leader says there is to be no new revelation today. But God says that virtually the whole Bible would have to be revealed in this end time!
This is not something that anybody can take lightly. God said He would send one man to “restore all things”—one man in the midst of billions of people. How can we possibly avoid being deceived?
Actually the answer is simple. “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not” (Matt. 24:23). If “any man” points you to Christ, beware. You must let Christ point you to Christ, or let Christ reveal where He is working. “Cursed be the man that trusts in man” (Jer. 17:5). Follow a man only if he follows Christ (ICor. 11:1). The greatest deception in this world is religious deception. It is the first Christ listed—the greatest danger we are to face in these latter days. Regardless of what we think, Christ knew how deadly dangerous this deception would prove to be. We can’t afford to assume anything. God admonishes us to “prove all things” (I Thes. 5:21). If we refuse, we can blame nobody but ourselves.
