Third Way (n.)

A political alternative to the two dominant political theories of the 20th century, capitalism and communism. G.L. Mosse, professor of history at the University of Wisconsin, one of the world’s most distinguished experts on Nazism and fascism, maintains that fascism was a “revolution attempting to find a ‘Third Way’ between Marxism and capitalism.” The Third Way social democracy has been embraced by such luminaries as the British Prime Minister Blair, Canadian Prime Minister Chretien, German Chancellor Schröder and U.S. President Clinton. Third Way tenets are consistent with Catholic social dogma.
