God’s Sign of Shaking and a Beacon of Hope
God prophesied of two specific physical houses on Earth at the close of this age. They are types of His ancient temple. Because of rebellion, the first is no longer the headquarters for God’s worldwide warning message. Because of obedience, the second is a beacon of hope.
Look around you. People are fearful of the path this world is taking. World leaders are negotiating human survival. Racially motivated rioters are setting American cities on fire. Refugees from Syria are flooding into Europe. The global economy quivers on the verge of complete collapse.
A physical house gives us a sign for why this is all happening. What a proof of God’s love for all people: He is always pleading with them to wake up.
The First House
Here is what happened to the first house: “Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down” (Daniel 8:11).
In verse 14, Daniel wrote that the “sanctuary”—or God’s people—“was cleansed” after a rebellious leader led the people astray. But according to the International Critical Commentary, verse 11 refers to a physical place, “implying a construction, a base … the base of the altar. A construction that was built.” God’s people built this house for His work just before Christ’s Second Coming.
Back to verse 11. “The words cast down imply it was both thrown down and thrown away,” I wrote in Daniel Unsealed at Last! “Commentaries describe it as having been laid waste like a wilderness.” God’s own people, after building His house, polluted it by pushing Him out!
Fulfilled prophecy is the foundational proof of God’s existence! If God lives, there must be a physical house in this end time that has been spiritually destroyed by His rebellious people.
The Second House
If God lives, there must also be another physical house—a successor to the defiled temple. “And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts. … The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts” (Haggai 2:7, 9).
This prophecy makes clear that there are two physical houses in this age. Well, a critic would point to God’s temples thousands of years ago. What makes us so sure that these verses are not talking about the temples of Solomon and Zerubbabel?
“The glory of Zerubbabel’s temple was not greater than Solomon’s temple,” I wrote in Haggai: God Has Begun to Shake the Nations. “It wasn’t nearly as great. But God is speaking of a spiritual house, or Church in this end time. The spiritual house has infinitely greater glory than Solomon’s temple. Nothing compares in value to the Father’s begotten sons!”
Probably no structure has ever matched the splendor of Solomon’s temple. Zerubbabel’s temple, which came after Solomon’s, was not greater than the former! Haggai 2 isn’t referring to those temples at all!
When it comes to the two physical houses in this age, God esteems the latter greater than the former because of the spiritual fruits produced! One group rebelled against Him; the other group is continually raising up the ruins of that fallen work.
The loyal remnant establishes college campuses and other structures to help deliver a message from God’s house. Find that work today, and you will find a type of the wonderful World Tomorrow! God wants all people to see the peace and fulfillment that is possible if they would just choose His way of life.
We can be sure that God’s house is beautiful, and that it gives a sign of what is happening in this upside-down world. We can be sure that world problems will intensify, starting around the time this second house is established. But there is peace in God’s loyal Church where His house is. Realpeace can only come from God.
‘Peace, Peace’
God has been shaking the nations—particularly America, Britain and the Jewish nation in the Middle East—since His house was completed in 2010. But you will never hear our leaders admit to that.
“For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace” (Jeremiah 8:11). This world is hurtling toward nuclear annihilation, yet our leaders scamper around the world declaring peace after negotiating horrible nuclear deals!
The Prophet Habakkuk described thorough devastation: “When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops. Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls” (Habakkuk 3:16-17).
Has anything like this ever happened in man’s history? “The way of peace they know not,” reads Isaiah 59:8. Man apart from God is destined for bloodshed and destruction—for nuclear winter! The second house is a sign that this is imminent, no matter what our leaders say!
Two Women
“Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now your eyes, and see what is this that goes forth. And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goes forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth. And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead: and this is a woman that sits in the midst of the ephah” (Zechariah 5:5-7).
Twenty-seven times in the Bible, the word “ephah” refers to a technical device for measuring grain. In this case, a woman—or a church—is being measured.
“And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof. Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven” (verses 8-9).
Notice: The woman becomes two women. God calls one of them wicked. Why? “And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months” (Revelation 11:1-2).
God measures the inner court of His Church, but the people in the outer court refuse to be measured, so Godrejectsthem. His Church splits because 95 percent of His own people are polluted spiritually.
“Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah? And he said unto me, To build it an house in the land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base” (Zechariah 5:10-11).
“Shinar” is another term for Babylon, which symbolizes this evil world before Christ’s return. God’s spiritual house of peace endures the Laodicean era rebellion—a massive Church-wide departure from the truth. They build God’s house specifically to do His work—to be a sign that God has begun shaking the nations!
The truth emanating from God’s house today is measuring His loyal Philadelphian remnant now, and will measure the Laodiceans in the Great Tribulation. This house and the beautiful environment surrounding it are a type of the wonderful World Tomorrow! They are the World Tomorrow in embryo!
You need to understand the prophecies about two physical houses in this end time. Once you grasp what all this is about, you will be immensely inspired.
