Trumpet Hour: A New Nuclear Deal for Iran?, The Legacy of ‘King Kennedy,’ Who Will Watch the Watchers in Germany?
Show Notes
- Are we close to another Iran deal? While this seemed extremely unlikely after the U.S. pulled out of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action nuclear deal in May, comments from President Donald Trump on Monday have left the door open to a future negotiation. We discuss why the current pressures on the Iranian regime will only make it more belligerent.
- Yesterday, Justice Anthony Kennedy officially stepped down from the Supreme Court. Some are optimistic that his replacement will be able to reverse some of his lawless decisions. But the societal transformation that he enabled will not be easily undone. “King Kennedy” is gone, but his legacy lives on.
- And the German government is building increasingly powerful security and surveillance capacities. Are fears about the expanding police powers reasonable? Or are they indeed unfounded, as authorities claim? The Bible has prophesied the resurrection of Germany’s strong state, and it gives sobering warning about where it is leading.
