Week in Review: Battered America—Hurricanes and Burning Cities, and Much More
Show Notes
- Bad news continues to hit the United States—this week with Hurricane Laura pounding the Gulf Coast and criminals destroying Kenosha, Wisconsin, and other cities in race-related violence.
- Two competing sets of war games took place in the Mediterranean Sea, one by Turkey, the other by Greece. These rival nations have gone to war in the past, but now they are both members of NATO. The hostilities between them demonstrate how fractured the NATO alliance has become.
- Meanwhile, China hosted an unprecedented set of navy drills at five different locations at once, giving clues as to the strategic threats it is preparing itself for.
- We also talk about violence in Beirut highlighting the political divisions there, Russia and India continuing to deepen their relationship, and Australia destroying its economy through its irrationally stringent coronavirus restrictions.
