Processed Food: A Study in How Temptation Is Engineered
Show Notes
- On today’s show, we expose the dangers of industrialized processed food. Manufacturers engineer their products—not to fuel your body with good nutrition—but to sell, to allure you on the supermarket shelf, to addict you, to create as much pleasure as possible.
- We look into many of the details of how and why these foods are made as they are—including the words of many industry scientists, marketers and executives.
- These strategies are making executives at food companies a lot of money and wreaking havoc on the health of consumers. It is a powerful example of the dangers posed by greed and the ways of this world.
- We see how the principles that animate this industry illuminate many of the tactics of temptation. They illustrate what the Apostle Paul called “Satan’s devices,” the means by which the devil entraps people in self-destructive behavior and sin.
