Week in Review: Russia Intensifies Europe’s Energy Crisis
Show Notes
- Russia has cut off gas to France’s largest gas buyer and shut down the Nord Stream 1 pipeline entirely. This exacerbates Europe’s already crushing energy crisis and throws the Continent into even greater turmoil.
- Iran is ramping up advanced uranium enrichment, according to the UN nuclear watchdog agency, even as it continues to stonewall on negotiations over its nuclear program.
- The United Nations released its long-awaited report on the “serious human rights violations” China is committing in its Xinjiang province.
- We also talk about the historic drought parching the western United States, a report on the deaths in Mariupol in the early days of Russia’s war in Ukraine were much higher than initially reported, the death of former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, a stunning admission from Mark Zuckerberg regarding FBI meddling in the 2020 election, and some exciting archaeological news from Jerusalem.
