Week in Review: Why You Should Watch Germany’s New Defense Minister
Show Notes
- Germany just got a new defense minister, Boris Pistorius, a signal of the nation’s desire for greater military power and also of the determination of Olaf Scholz to preserve Germany’s relationship with Russia.
- Russia captured the town of Soledar this week in what could be a pivotal victory for Russian forces. And a Russian official warned NATO that defeat in Ukraine could ignite nuclear war.
- Japan announced plans to increase its military spending to such an extent that it would make it the third-biggest military spender in the world after America and China.
- We also talk about Saudi Arabia announcing its willingness to trade in currencies other than the U.S. dollar, Europe responding to Iranian terrorist provocations, the Church of England asking God to bless homosexual “marriages,” and “the most damaging spy in U.S. history” being released from prison.
