The Tombs of the Kings Are a Sign

The tombs of the kings will be found just before the Great Tribulation. They will be a world sensation and a sign of precisely where we are in Bible prophecy!
The righteous kings who ruled from David’s throne were buried in one massive tomb. This includes David and Solomon. God cares a great deal about the tombs of the kings! David’s palace has already been discovered through our partnership with Dr. Eilat Mazar. I’m almost certain the tombs will be found under the palace—or very close.
When King David was buried, an immense amount of wealth was buried with him. The Jews knew exactly where the tombs were located after they returned from Babylonian exile (Nehemiah 3:16). The Apostle Peter spoke about the whereabouts of the tombs of the kings being known by everyone during the first century, and how these tombs were in no way damaged or molested (Acts 2:29). (For more proofs and details about the tombs of the kings, read my son’s article “The Tombs of the Kings.”)
According to the great Jewish historian Josephus, when the Seleucid King Antiochus attacked Jerusalem in the second century b.c., the Jewish high priest Hyrcanus broke into the tombs of the kings to loot some of the wealth to pay off Antiochus. A century later, King Herod raided the tombs and found no money, but he did steal golden furniture and other precious goods. The next time he ventured into the tombs, he wanted to go all the way back to the bones of David and Solomon, but a fiery flame burst out from the tombs and burned two of his guards to death! From that point on, Herod kept the entrance practically sealed, almost impossible to break into. When the Roman Emperor Titus ransacked Jerusalem in a.d. 70, destroying practically everything, the tombs were left untouched.
Why have the bones been left alone for thousands of years? It must have something to do with this end-time prophecy: “At that time, saith the Lord, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves” (Jeremiah 8:1). The bones of Judah’s righteous kings weren’t meant to be brought out into the open during Herod’s time or any other time in the past! The tombs of the kings will be found very soon!
When this incredible discovery is made, the whole world will be reminded of God’s promise to David of an everlasting kingly line—a line of which Jesus Christ will be the final descendant, the King of kings! People will realize that God is real. The tombs of the kings are a sign for all mankind, but especially those of us today who understand Bible prophecy.
The tombs of the kings will be found. This sign will give hope that the Messiah is about to return to rule from the throne of David! The Jews should know much more about this sign from God. Christ won’t return to a nonexistent throne, so where is that throne today? (Study my free book The New Throne of David to find out.)
From the discovery of the tombs to the Second Coming will be a short span of time—only two or three years! Christ will rule the universe from David’s throne forever and ever and ever!
Satanic Hatred
“And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth” (Jeremiah 8:2). Not everyone will be happy to receive this sign. An army of the Holy Roman Empire will enter Jerusalem and defile the bones, spreading them on the ground for all to see. Adam Clarke’s Commentary on the Bible describes this as “the highest expression of hatred and contempt.”
Wherever there is a promise from God, there will also be enemies filled with hatred! They won’t want the world to think on real, righteous kings like David and Solomon. They think they know God, but they don’t. They harbor an intense hatred for Him and His plan.
Though the desecration of the bones of the kings will be discouraging, it won’t ultimately make any difference. These kings will live again! They will rule alongside Christ, no matter what the Holy Roman Empire or anyone does to their bones!
Satan hates the throne of David because it symbolizes the God Family Empire. He has tried and failed to overthrow God. “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. … Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time” (Revelation 12:7-9, 12).
Satan and millions of demons have been cast down and confined to Earth in this end time! They are the source of the chaos, violence and hatred permeating the planet.
Christ kicked Satan out of heaven. Soon, He will kick Satan off the throne of the Earth (Revelation 20:1-3). Satan knows his time is almost up, so he’s on a vicious rampage like no one has ever seen before! God protects His loyal people from all of Satan’s deadly attacks (Revelation 12:13-14). How important is it to obey God?
The Good News
“The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Thus speaketh the Lord God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book. For, lo, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it” (Jeremiah 30:1-3). This is an end-time prophecy! Israel is the nations of America and Britain primarily; Judah is the Jewish nation in the Middle East. (Request our free book The United States and Britain in Prophecy to prove these biblical identities.)
God is saying our nations will be enslaved, then released to return to their lands! The coming captivity will be “great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it” (verse 7). Our nations will only escape this punishment through repentance.
But notice the good news: “But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them” (verse 9). Once the modern-day descendants of ancient Israel and Judah are freed from slavery, they will finally worship God—and David will be resurrected to rule over them! David will help establish a new civilization of peace and joy forever.
Matthew 24 discusses multiple signs of Jesus Christ’s Second Coming. The tombs of the kings are another sign! Mankind is without an excuse. Signs are everywhere! If you really want to find God, you can! Just follow the signs.
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled” (Matthew 24:32-34). We can’t know the exact time of the Second Coming, but Christ tells us we have a responsibility to know when His return is near—when it’s right at the door!
Dr. Eilat Mazar, whom we have had the pleasure of assisting on archaeological excavations since 2006, said most in her field don’t have vision because they don’t rely on the Bible even as an accurate historical and geographical source. “For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof” (Psalm 102:14). God’s people are passionate about digging!
“Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. … So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory” (verses 13, 15-16). There is a set time when the whole world will be astounded by the sensational discovery of the tombs of the kings. God is now building up Zion, His one true Church. We keep digging until God appears in all His glory! His return will have everything to do with archaeology and with the people who favor the dust of Jerusalem.
What a meaningful, purposeful life all humans could live, if they would just look to God! We are blessed to understand the sign of the tombs of the kings. Soon, everyone will understand this prophecy precisely. Jesus Christ is coming soon!
