Russia Moves to Normalize Nuclear Weapons
Russia’s lower house of parliament unanimously voted Tuesday to back out of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. This decision came on the heels of a report saying the United States could not beat a Russo-Chinese alliance in a war.
The treaty prohibits “any nuclear weapon test explosion or any other nuclear explosion” anywhere in the world. Its ultimate goal is to eliminate all nuclear weapons.
- The treaty originated in 1996.
- 187 countries signed the agreement.
- 178 of those ratified it.
- The treaty cannot be officially enforced until ratified by eight more nations, including the U.S.
Russian policymaker Vyacheslav Volodin said Russia’s vote was in response to America’s failure to ratify the treaty.
If this bill passes the three Russian lower house readings and receives approval from the upper house, President Vladimir Putin can sign it into law. Earlier this month, Putin himself suggested that Russia pull out of the treaty.
Testing nukes? Russia says it has no plans to test nuclear weapons and will only test if the U.S. does. However, with its current failings in Ukraine, and the June announcement concerning Russian nuclear weapons being stationed in Belarus, the probability of a Russian test is increasingly likely.
Putin said he was “not ready to say” whether Russia would test nuclear weapons. But pulling out of the treaty would give him the legal cover to order such a test if he chooses to.
End result: Tuesday’s vote shows the continued fulfillment of Bible prophecy. The Bible is full of prophecies that can only come to pass in today’s age. Revelation 9:16-18 prophesy of an army that will kill a third of mankind. Matthew 24:21-22 foretell of a tribulation that, unless cut short, would kill all life on Earth. The fulfillment of these prophecies has only been possible with today’s nuclear weaponry.
Many commentators see that a nuclear World War iii is only a short time away. Nuclear devastation is approaching. The Russian vote is just another step in mankind’s impending self-destruction.
