North Korean Reconnaissance Satellite Sends Tensions Soaring
Both North Korea and South Korea moved forces to their shared border on November 27, following the North’s withdrawal from the Panmunjom Declaration.
- The 2018 declaration obligated the rival nations to “make joint efforts to defuse the acute military tensions and to substantially remove the danger of a war on the Korean Peninsula.”
- North Korea pulled out of the agreement after breaking it on November 21 by launching a reconnaissance satellite into orbit. North Korean state media claims the satellite took photos of the United States White House, Pentagon, U.S. bases in Guam and U.S. aircraft carriers at the naval base of Norfolk. These claims have not been confirmed.
The real threat: Any power North Korea has is the result of Russian or Chinese backing. This is why Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry says North Korea is not the monumental threat some make it out to be. In this case, it is likely that Russia supplied the technology used in Pyongyang’s new satellite.
Mr. Flurry based his assessment on Bible prophecy. The Bible prophesies of a massive Asian alliance led by Russia and China. This axis will play a major role in the coming nuclear World War iii. Though North Korea’s nuclear capabilities will aid this coalition, to focus on Pyongyang instead of its far more powerful supporting powers would be a grave miscalculation.
The Bible’s prophecies show that, in a sense, the North Korea crisis is a massive distraction from the real threat posed by China and Russia. These powerful Asian nations are the only reason North Korea is able to operate so freely. And Bible prophecy shows that they pose a threat many times greater than the one from North Korea!
