Gov. Ron DeSantis Requires Students to Learn About the ‘Evils of Communism’
Around 60 percent of American university professors admit to being more socialist than conservative. A full 3 percent of those professors admit to being full-fledged Marxists. With this being the case, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is taking measures to inoculate Florida students against communism before they go to college.
On April 17, he signed a bill into law that will require Florida public schools to teach about the dangers and evils of communism. DeSantis signed the legislation while surrounded by surviving members of the 2506 Assault Brigade, a group of Cuban exiles formed in 1960 to overthrow Communist dictator Fidel Castro.
Bill SB 1264: Under Bill SB 1264, the Florida Department of Education will offer “age-appropriate” instruction on the history of communism for all grade levels. Specifically, it will emphasize the economic upheaval and personal freedom restrictions seen in many Communist nations.
The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation estimates that communism is responsible for the deaths of over 100 million people. So understanding the history of communism is vital for everyone.

Human nature: Late Trumpet staff writer Ron Fraser explained in his International Relations college course that there are only two broad theories of political thought: realism and utopianism. A realist accepts the biblical truth that human nature is evil (Jeremiah 17:9). A utopian believes that human nature is good (aside from a few corrupt officials).
America’s founders were realists. Understanding that human nature was evil, they sought to devise a system of checks and balances to keep power out of the hands of a single branch of government, or worse yet, a single individual.
The world’s socialist and Marxist movements, however, are rooted in utopian thought. They don’t believe in limits on government power and therefore trend toward tyranny.

The far-left ideas put forward by the Democratic Party today are not based on traditional American culture, which is largely based on the Bible. They are ideas brought to America from German and Russian universities.
