Is Trudeau on the Way Out?
Justin Trudeau has had a bad year. After a decade in power in Canada, his days as prime minister appear numbered. After stagnating the economy, forcing left-wing ideology on citizens, and unleashing millions of immigrants within the country, Trudeau and his Liberal Party are heading for an apparent rebuke at the next election.
Last November, polls showed Trudeau with a historically low approval rating of 30 percent and a disapproval rating of 65 percent. The opposition Conservative Party held a 19-point lead over the Liberal Party.
Even in their strongholds in Montreal, Quebec, and Toronto, Ontario, the Liberals lost two special by-elections. In September, Jagmeet Singh, leader of the New Democratic Party, ended the Supply and Confidence Agreement propping up Trudeau’s minority government. Since then, Trudeau has faced two votes of no confidence in the House of Commons. He survived both, but more are anticipated, largely because of an internal revolt among the Liberals. Some Liberal members of Parliament have publicly called for his resignation.
The next election must be held by October, and all indications point to a Liberal defeat. However, Trudeau is no ordinary politician. He is the “chosen one,” the face of a political dynasty that spans generations. The political machine backing Trudeau combines the interests of the Catholic Church, Barack Obama, the billionaire Desmarais family, the Chinese Communist Party, the Marxist movement and the Liberal Party. This machine has controlled the Canadian government for 45 of the past 55 years. What is at stake is not the political ambitions of one man, but the political agenda of an entire partisan system, backed by billions of dollars. Don’t expect Trudeau to meekly stand aside.
What does Bible prophecy say?
The world is still reverberating from the shock wave of Donald Trump’s dominant United States presidential election victory on Nov. 5, 2024. It was the dramatic fulfillment of 2 Kings 14:26-27 and Amos 7, which Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry has identified as prophecies that forecast Trump’s return to the presidency. His comeback is the culmination of God’s miraculous intervention in the affairs of our nations to temporarily break the stranglehold of traitorous leaders.
Will Trump’s return have a similar effect on Canada? The short answer is yes. The economies of these two nations are so intertwined that any economic resurgence in the U.S. will be felt in Canada. Lower energy prices, higher demand on international pipelines, and more North American manufacturing will all boost Canada’s economy.
However, Trump’s protectionist policies, such as tariffs, could hurt major Canadian exports like lumber, gas, minerals and automobiles. Trudeau’s presence or absence may be eclipsed by Trump’s economic policies and influence over the country.
Even if Canada feels the positive effects, most Canadians viscerally hate President Trump, and the left-leaning culture may be too entrenched for the nation to see a cultural resurgence.
The lesson is that it takes a miracle from God to break the stranglehold of evil in the highest levels in our government. Even if Trudeau loses the next election, it will still take a divine miracle to break the power of the political machine backing him and that has been strangling Canada. We are cursed if we put our trust in a man (Jeremiah 17:5). However, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is” (verse 7).
