Tesla Cybertruck Explodes in Possible Terrorist Act

A Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on Wednesday in a possible terrorist attack. The driver of the vehicle was killed, and seven others were injured.

The Cybertruck exploded shortly after pulling up to the hotel’s entrance around 8:40 a.m. Authorities are still investigating the exact source of the blast but found several fireworks mortars and camp fuel canisters in the back of the Tesla.

Tesla ceo Elon Musk said the explosion was not caused by a malfunction and all “vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion.”

Law enforcement officials say the explosion looks to be “intentional” and are treating it as a “potential act of terrorism.”

Two of the seven injured people were taken to the hospital, but all injuries are said to be minor.

Suspected connections: The driver was identified as Matthew Livelsberger, a 37-year-old Army veteran and Colorado resident.

Livelsberger served at the same Army base as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who killed 15 people in New Orleans just hours before the Cybertruck exploded. Livelsberger and Jabbar also used the same company, Turo, to rent the vehicles they used.

Jabbar adorned his truck with the flag of the Islamic State terrorist group. Authorities are investigating if there is a connection between the two attacks.
