Russia and China Test Alaska’s Defenses
Russia and China are increasing activity in the air defense identification zone (adiz) around Alaska, National Interest reported on February 19. The North American Aerospace Defense Command (norad) expects this to continue.
Why it matters: This should concern the United States because not only are foreign powers encroaching on its territory, but also Russia and China, two nuclear-equipped Western enemies, are working closely together.
Full story: Russia and China jointly patrolled the adiz around Alaska the first time in July 2024. norad fighters from the U.S. and Canada scrambled to intercept the patrol.
Since then, Russian activity near America’s adiz has increased to levels unseen before its invasion of Ukraine. China is following Russia’s lead.
Russia has also increased its activity near America’s East Coast, prompting the U.S. and Canada to deploy F-16s to Greenland.
Prophetic perspective: The Bible prophesies that Russia and China will lead the most brutal military alliance in human history. Their increasing closeness and aggression are setting the stage for the fulfillment of this prophecy.
