China Is ‘Pivotal’ to Malaysia’s Future
Malaysia’s new prime minister, Anwar Ibrahim, has stated that China is “pivotal” to Malaysia’s future.
After a strenuous general election resulting in a hung Parliament, Malaysia’s constitutional monarch, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, appointed Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister on November 24.
Comrades: Anwar has stated that though he wants to maintain a good relationship with the United States, he will work to forge stronger ties with China. Malaysia’s top trading partner for over a decade now has been China. Anwar understands that building better bilateral relations with China will boost Malaysia’s economy and slow the climbing cost of living.
Prophecy says: One day China (“Chittim”) will help lead a massive alliance of trading partners called a “mart of nations” (Isaiah 23:1-3), which will exclude the U.S. and Britain. God will allow this “mart” to emerge in order to punish the modern descendants of ancient Israel, primarily the nations of America and the British Commonwealth, for their rebellion against His laws (Deuteronomy 28:15). A major component of this punishment will happen when China and its partners “besiege” Israel’s “gates,” meaning maritime choke points or vital shipping lanes used for trade.
Malaysia boarders one of the most critical of these “gates”: the Malacca Strait.
The Trumpet said:
With more than 90 percent of all crude oil flowing through the South China Sea passing through Malacca, the strait is regarded as the world’s second-most important shipping choke point, surpassed only by the Strait of Hormuz. And as China continues to deepen its ties with Malaysia, it is increasingly positioned to assert control over Malacca. This translates into bolstering China’s ability to dictate who can enter and exit the South China Sea.
